Mike West
Mike West is an actor, filmmaker, and producer with over a decade of experience. Starting in local TV commercials, he studied acting and improv, leading to roles in numerous ads and both local and international films. His work has earned him a Best Actor award and nomination, as well as a film award for "Whitebait." To promote local filmmakers, he created the Island Film Gathering, facilitating networking and exposure through film screenings and industry Q&A sessions. In 2013, he co-created the 24-Hour Cult Movie Festival, a marathon event for classic cult films. During lockdown, Mike launched "Lights Camera Quarantine," enabling local filmmakers to form teams and create films remotely with other participants in their team during lockdown, with over six films premiered online. He also started a group feature film competition, receiving over 30 script submissions. Additionally, Mike co-founded Acting Malta to provide quality acting classes and manages several film and TV work groups with over 50,000 members worldwide. His favorite directors include Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Luc Besson, Stanley Kubrick, and Woody Allen.
